WUHAN, March 15 (Xinhua) -- The situation of epidemic prevention and control in Wuhan remains tense since there were still sporadic outpatient COVID-19 cases reported in communities, an official with the municipal health commission said Sunday at a press conference.
Zheng Yun, deputy head of the commission, said although the city has seen single-digit daily increases of new infections for four days, there is still a certain risk of infection in communities based on epidemiological investigation and analysis as well as the law of infectious disease transmission.
According to Zheng, among all new confirmed cases in Wuhan on March 13 and 14, one was outpatient on each day. It was found that the outpatients and their families had outdoor activities in the communities, thus the possibility of community-acquired infection can not be ruled out.
Zheng reminded the public to remain vigilant, try to stay indoors and take good protection and keep a good distance from others when going out.
