TIRANA, Oct. 15 (Xinhua) -- A nine-member Albanian team has left for China to participate in the Military World Games 2019 to be held in Wuhan from October 18-27, the defense minister Olta Xhacka announced on Tuesday.
Through a post in the social media Facebook, Xhacka said, "Albanian national flag was handed over to the national champion athlete and also corporal in the Military Police Luiza Gega."
The Albanian military team will compete in the 1,500m and 3,000m, marathons, freestyle wrestling and judo, a statement of the Albanian Armed Forces (AAF) said.
The Chief of General Staff of the AAF, Brigadier General Bardhyl Kollcaku expressed his strong belief that the Albanian military team will come back with trophies.
This is the third time that Albania takes part in the Military World Games, a multi-sport event organized every four years since 1995. The 7th edition will take place in Wuhan, China.
