MUMBAI, Aug. 10 (Xinhua) -- The death toll from floods in the three Indian states has risen to 104, with heavy rains and landslides forcing several thousands to flee home, official data showed on Saturday.
To add to the woes, Indian Meteorological Department has predicted heavy to very heavy rain in the states of Kerala, Karnataka and Maharashtra.
Kerala has suffered the maximum death toll with 51 killed so far and over 100,000 people evacuated. Last year, the state had witnessed one of its worst floods with over 200 people killed and over 5 million affected.
Maharashtra and Karnataka state have reported 29 and 24 deaths, respectively so far.
In Karnataka, around 150,000 hectares of crops and vegetables have been destroyed by floods, media reports said.
