JAKARTA, July 22 (Xinhua) -- A small plane with two people on board went down into a river in Indonesia's West Java province on Monday, leaving one person wounded and another missing, spokesman of Indonesian transport ministry Hengki Angkasawan said.
The incident happened at 14:50 p.m. Jakarta time when the two were conducting a flight exercise, the spokesman said.
"The Cessna plane plunged into a river in Indramayu district, one of the people on board survived but another went missing," Hengki told Xinhua via phone.
The plane was operated by aviation school in Cirebon of the province, PT Angkasa Aviation Academy, and the two crews of the crashed plane are students of the school, said Hengki.
The survivor of the incident is now being treated at a nearby hospital while search and rescue for the missing person is underway, involving personnel from search and rescue office in the province and volunteers, spokesman of search and rescue office in West Java province Joshua Banjarnahor told Xinhua via phone.
