TOKYO, July 19 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks extended gains Friday morning, as investors snapped up issues deemed oversold following the market's recent three-day slide.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average gained 347.99 points, or 1.65 percent, from Thursday to 21,394.23.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, added 27.59 points, or 1.80 percent, at 1,561.86.
All industry categories advanced into positive territory, with securities house, nonferrous metal, and farm and fishery-related issues comprising those that gained the most by the morning break.
