ADEN, Jan. 16 (Xinhua) -- Yemen's government on Wednesday expressed reservations over an international meeting on Yemen organized by Germany, the Al Arabiya TV reported.
This meeting, hosted by German Foreign Ministry in Berlin, was held without prior coordination or consultations with the internationally-recognized Yemeni government that is a legitimate representative of the Yemeni republic, the Yemeni Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
Any violation of the mechanisms of the United Nations, particularly by a friendly member state of the international organization, "should be rectified," said the statement.
Under the title of "High-level Strategic Dialogue on the Peace Process and Horizons of Stability in Yemen," the Berlin meeting aimed to support the UN efforts to achieve peace in the war-torn Yemen.
German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas said Tuesday that the cease-fire agreement reached by Yemen's warring parties in Stockholm, Sweden in December offered a "real window for opportunity" to make further progress on resolving the Yemeni crisis.
He added that the international community needs to ensure that further progress would not be impeded by lack of funds or lengthy administrative processes.
