RIO DE JANEIRO, Oct. 25 (Xinhua) -- Jair Bolsonaro, a right-wing presidential candidate, on Thursday stressed the need to combat the high unemployment in the country.
On Twitter, the Social Liberal Party candidate tweeted that the country's employment is suffering because "investors don't trust Brazil, thousands of businesses closed because of violence, high taxes, bureaucracy, corruption and the crisis, all inherited from the PT (Workers' Party)."
"We will change this situation. We will be the government of employment!" he said.
According to Bolsonaro, the lowest unemployment rates are found in countries with the most liberal economies. "We will follow this direction. We will grow like never before," he wrote.
The candidate also said that his government would follow the lead of other nations by boosting the interconnectivity of the highway and train networks with shipping ports to make transporting cargo and goods more efficient.
Bolsonaro's remarks came ahead of Sunday's runoff against the PT candidate Fernando Haddad. A recent poll showed Bolsonaro won 57 percent of valid votes, compared with 43 percent for Haddad.
