KAMPALA, Feb. 21 (Xinhua) -- Uganda coach Tolbert Onyango named Friday the squad for next month's World Rugby Sevens Challenger.
The first and second rounds of the Sevens Challenger will be held in the Athlone Stadium in Cape Town, South Africa from March 1 to 2, and from March 7 to 8, featuring 12 men's and 12 women's teams.
"We have been preparing for some time now and picked the best team that I believe is ready to put up a good show in the Challenger," Onyango told Xinhua.
In the men's event, Uganda is pooled alongside Samoa and Brazil. On the women's side, Uganda is placed in Pool C along with Belgium and Colombia.
The top eight teams of each gender after two rounds will progress to the third round in Krakow, Poland from April 11 to 12.
Top four ranked men's and women's teams after the third round will qualify for the playoff tournament in Los Angeles from May 3 to 4. ■
